Barro bowl, natural terracotta

This terracotta bowl is both traditional and a bit quirky in the same time. Designed by Rui Pereira for Hay, the Barro bowl is part of a tableware collection that brings the warmth and simplicity of terracotta to the dining table.

Barro means 'red clay' in Portuguese and the name reflects the designer's appreciation for the traditions and applications of the material. It's in tune with the trend for soft curved shapes. The raised edge of the Barro bowl, combined with its soft appearance and proportions, creates a sense of stability that makes the plate enjoyable to use.

Crafted in Portugal from durable terracotta, the Barro mixes two contrasting paths in craft: the old tradition of Portugese ceramics and next generation international design.

We are based in Helsinki (Finland) and all our our products are shipped directly from our stores in Helsinki during business days. Local pick-ups are available from our stores within their operating hours. At the moment we ship only to EU countries.
