Designed by Rui Pereira for Hay, the Barro mug is part of a tableware collection that brings the warmth and simplicity of terracotta to the dining table. Barro, meaning 'red clay' in Portuguese, reflects the designer's appreciation for the traditions and applications of this ancient material. The muted colours and chunky solid weigth combined with its soft appearance and proportions, creates a sense of stability that makes the plate enjoyable to use.
Crafted in Portugal from durable terracotta, the Barro mixes two contrasting paths in craft, the old tradition of Portugese ceramics and next generation international design.
