The chess match matchbox
Did you know that the word "Checkmate" in chess traces its roots all the way back to the Persian phrase "Shah Mat," which roughly translates to "the King is dead"? It's a triumphant declaration of victory, a moment where tactics and cunning collide in a glorious finale! "Check Mate" is a glorious design inspired by the vintage charm of one of our favourite matchbox labels. Designed by the creative minds at Archivist.
The matchbox contains about 120 matches, each measuring 10 cm long. Box dimensions 11 x 11 x 5 cm. The Archivist matches are of high-quality & thoughtfully designed.
