Clothing brush with bronze wire, pearwood

This clothes brush is suitable for all types of fabric, keeping your clothes soft, fresh, and clean. The bronze wire can easily remove pilling from sweaters. Also suitable as an upholstery brush, especially for velour.

Bronze wire bristles help lift dust, lint and pilling from woollen fabrics, refreshing garments and extending their lifespan without the use of chemicals or disposable lint rollers.

• For maintenance, rinse with water and towel blot to remove excess moisture. Air dry with bristles facing down to prevent damage to wooden handle and comb out gently using a metal comb.

This is a universal brush. The soft bronze wire bristles are extremely gentle, yet effectively ­remove dirt, bobbles and hairs from all types of fabric and wool. Also ideal for removing pet hair from clothes, cushions and sofas.

Redecker uses bronze wire in some of its textile and garment brushes because bronze has a few unique properties that make it particularly effective for fabric care:

• Gentle but effective cleaning – Fine bronze bristles can reach between the fibres of wool, cashmere, felt and other dense textiles, lifting dust, dirt and surface lint without being overly abrasive.
  
• Removes pilling – Bronze wire helps loosen and remove small pills and fuzz that form on knitwear and wool garments, helping fabrics look fresher for longer.
  
• Natural fibre care – Traditional clothes brushes made with only natural hair are excellent for dusting, but bronze adds a deeper cleaning action that is especially useful for heavy wool coats, loden jackets and felted fabrics.
  
• Durability – Bronze is softer than steel, making it less likely to damage fibres while still being strong enough to maintain its shape over years of use.
  
• Traditional craftsmanship – Many of Redecker's brushes are based on long-established German textile-care tools. Bronze wire garment brushes have been used for generations by tailors and clothiers to maintain woollen garments.

One thing to note: Redecker's bronze brushes are usually intended for robust wool fabrics, coats, felt and upholstery, NOT delicate materials such as silk, fine merino, cashmere blends or loosely woven fabrics. For those, Redecker typically recommends softer goat hair, horsehair or lighter natural-bristle brushes.
