Memoirs Of Moominpappa, Special Collectors' Edition

Memoirs of moominpappa, special collectors' edition

A beautifully restored collector’s edition of Tove Jansson’s classic. This special hardback brings Memoirs of Moominpappa back to life with original 1950s–60s cover designs, striking endpapers and, for the very first time in the UK, a prologue written by Jansson but never before published.

It begins on a cold autumn evening, when a tiny Moomin foundling is left on a doorstep. From there, Moominpappa spins his adventurous memoirs for Moomintroll and friends: daring journeys, eccentric companions like the muddled Muddler, carefree Joxter and ingenious Hodgkins, and a dramatic finale in which he rescues Moominmamma from the sea.

First published in 1950 as The Exploits of Moominpapa and substantially revised by Jansson in the 1960s with new drawings and her preferred title, this is the first time the definitive edition has been available. A timeless gift edition – “so beautifully produced, so solid and permanent, just as Tove Jansson deserved.” (Philip Pullman)
