Chess nyc, the new yorker x paintwork's
In celebration of The New Yorker's hundredth anniversary, we’ve teamed up with the iconic magazine to bring you a reimagined chess set that captures the true spirit of New York City. This special edition features the city’s landmarks as chess pieces— from the ever-watchful Statue of Liberty as the Queen to pigeons flying in as Knights, and the hustle of yellow cabs as Pawns. Each piece represents a part of New York’s vibrant character, creating a playful tribute to the city that never sleeps. The Chess Set is Illustrated by Christoph Niemann, a recurring contributor to The New Yorker.
