The legendary Portuguese brand Bordallo Pinheiro partnered with Nini Andrade Silva, one of the most famous interior designers, to produce a new set of earthenware — the Banana da Madeira Collection. The designer, born in the island of Madeira, pays tribute in this collection to one of the island's icons, the banana tree.

Various features, such as banana tree's dark wrinkled bark, large verdant leaves, delicate stem, and of course the iconic form of the banana itself are masterfully transformed into imaginitive tableware: large platters and trays, small bowls and cups, gorgeous centrepieces and pitchers. The pieces of the collection recreate a tropical environment where you can almost smell and hear the sunshiny island and its famous yellow-green fruits.
