The Archivist journey began in 1998 down in the archives of the Natural History Museum. This is an element of the past that the brand is incredibly proud to celebrate. In 2025, they pay hommage to this crucial part of the brand's beginnings by releasing a range of matchbox designs that have been made in collaboration with the Natural History Museum.

'The American Flamingo' is an illustration by John J. Aududon. The culmination of over 12 years of work, The Birds of America is a masterpiece that features some of the most stunning bird paintings of all time. One of the most valuable natural history books ever published, it shows birds in natural positions and native habitats. Using a variety of materials to create highly dramatic style, Aududon's book features almost 500 species. Considered one of the greatest bird artists of all time, Audubon's American flamingo is an incredible piece of art reproduced here in the cover of these luxury matches. 

The matchbox contains about 120 matches, each measuring 10 cm long. The Archivist matches are of high-quality & thoughtfully designed. These tinder sticks are joy to be held and use; one sturdy stick will light multiple candles or make a good hearty fire to the sauna. No fear of burning your fingers!
