Straw placemat, bright red & natural

This lovely placemat has woven checks in red and natural beige. It's cheerful yet elegant in its charming simplicity.

These home accessories are handmade by craftswomen using the iraca weaving technique, typical of Colombian tradition.

The iraca, or toquilla straw, is a natural fiber that comes from the "Carludovica palmata", from whose leaves are obtained some fine threads that are dyed to give them color. Once dry, the artisans interweave the threads with the different colors to create our placemats.

Combine this checkered cutie with other bright colours or use the red as an accent colour to pop out from otherwise natural-hued table setting!

We are based in Helsinki (Finland) and all our our products are shipped directly from our stores in Helsinki during business days. Local pick-ups are available from our stores within their operating hours. At the moment we ship only to EU countries.
